    Description

    Up for sale is a magnificent and rare 12 inch Purple Staffordshire Coronation Bowl for the coronation of His Majesty King William IV and Queen Adelaide in 1831. This spectacular, large bowl has clear and bright purple transfer featuring the portraits of both King William and Queen Adelaide, as well as prolific lush flower and leaf arrangements throughout the piece including all around the sides and bottom of the base.
    The center of the bowl features, not only rich flowers and leaves, but two female angels with wings, as if to oversee the new King and Queen. Notice the pedestal base with hanging wreaths decorating the perimeter and the scalloped cut edge at the top. The bowl is hallmarked on the bottom (final photo).
    This is an exquisite addition to any British Royalty or 19th century, antique Staffordshire collection.
