This large Plaster Seal is 6” in diameter ¾” thick,
golden/yellow plaster or? Seal is still attached to a huge
22” x 19-1/2” original declaration explaining its’ purpose.
Below is the wording on the declaration the best that
we can determine from the old English cursive writing.
Victoria by the Grace of God
of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland Queen Defender of the Faith.
To all to whom these Presents shall come greeting: Know we that we of our especial grace have constituted ordained and appointed our trusty and well beloved Clement Higgins of the inner Temple, London, Esquire, one of our Counsel learned in the law ????
We have also given and granted unto him as one of our counsel aforesaid place ???? and precaution ???? after Frances Williams Maclean, Esquire in our courts or elsewhere ???
We also will and grant to the said Clement Higgins full power and sufficient authority to perform do and fulil and every the things which any other of our counsel learned in the law as one of our said counsel may do and fulfil.
We will that this our Grant shall not lessen any office by us or by our ancestors heretofore given or granted In Witness whereof we have caused these our letters to be made patent Witness ourself at Westminster the tenth day of May in the forty ninth year of our reign.

It also included a letter from the Treasurer’s Office Inner Temple,
dated May 28, 1887 (see photo).
This comes in the original  black metal tin that holds the Seal
inside the reddish hard outer box (9-3/4”x 9” x 3-1/4” tall).
Please note the inside latch of the box is broken off,
but the latch and hardware are still there (see photos)
