Pair Antique Chinese Southern Official Arm Chairs with Carved back Splats

An unusual style of low back antique Chinese arm chairs.
Chinese arm chair details:
The curved back spats have hand carved relief carvings of dragons inside pointed top framed panels. One uncommon feature is the straight round top rail that continues down into the side rails in what visually looks like a continuous piece. As can be seen in the photos there is a slight leaning of the backs.
Matching the style of the back, the round gracefully curving arms become the front support as they hook back down into the frame of the seat.
The seat is an inset raised panel set into a thicker frame around the panel. The front edge of the frame has a convex curve down an inward with a flat detail at the bottom. There is also an unusual molded design where the frame meets the flat seat panel.
There is a scalloped relief carved apron under the front seat that has a carved bead detail on the edges. This apron also runs down the inside of the legs and stops at the foot rest. The sides and back have very simple aprons under the seat frame. There is also a straight stretcher on each side and back.
A simple apron also runs under the front footrests.
General Notes:
These chairs retain much of their original lacquer although the worn areas give these chairs a beautiful patina. As shown in the photos, one of the chairs has more wear than the other.
